    1. Hi mate. thank you for tuning in and watching this short video. This was one of my favourite finds of 2022, such a thrill to find all these silver coins in the same hole. Thanks again and catch you on another of my metal detecting videos. Gareth

    1. Hi mate, I’m certain these would have been coins that simply slid out someones pocket, it could have been a week’s wage for someone at that time (late 1800’s). I have found several leather purses over the years from the same era and they have been in tact. Takes a LONG time for leather to completely biodegrade. This is what makes this hobby so interesting. Thanks as always for tuning in mate

    1. Hello, thanks so much for taking the time to watch this video. This find is not classed a treasure trove as it is fairly modern and not valuable. But it was certainly very exciting for me to find 🙂 Thanks again, and I hope to see you on one of my many other metal detecting videos. Gareth

    1. Hello, thanks so much for watching this short video of mine. Yes all these coins came out of the ground in wonderful condition. This is why I love to metal detect on pasture fields like this. Thanks again and I hope to see you on one of my many other metal detecting adventures. Gareth

  1. I just discovered you and you replied back. I don’t usually get replies. That was very nice.
Those five coins are absolutely my favorite thing to find. It was hidden and something prevented them from ever being unearthed. Did the owner pass? Did they forget? We will never know. I’m going to be thinking about this for days.
The intimate items that were worn or carried daily by their owners. I’m not good with p’s, pences or pounds but in 1868 that was a years wages

This was one of my fave finds of 2022, such excitement pulling up multiple silver coins. It is awesome to imagine how things got where we find them. Whoever lost these coins had a bad day!!
