Such wonderful performances. Honestly, this is a joy to watch again after all these years. I’ve just learned that the translator was Jim Broadbent, who has been in loads of things: Cloud Atlas, Harry Potter (and so was Mirriam Margoyles, the Infanta in this scene!), Game of Thrones. Ah, series 1 of Blackadder has a special place in my heart.
Don’t worry guys, the translator is an Eunuch as well. Baldrick is safe……well sort of.

One thing I love about the first series is that Baldrick is basically the smartest of the trio (or at least the most switched on). Sad to think that down the centuries his descendants get stupider lol.
