Get an in-depth review of Gusto! Explore the features, benefits, and user experience of this top payroll and HR platform. Gusto isn’t just one of the leading HR platforms out there, but it’s renowned for the comprehensiveness and reliability of its services. So, I decided to put Gusto to the test in my own business, keeping my employees’ feedback in mind. Spoiler alert, we were really impressed. In fact, we liked it so much we’re going to continue using some of its features in our daily operations. So in this review, I’ll walk you through our experience, talk about what we liked, what we didn’t like, and the reasons I think someone may want to go with a different service. Gusto is an all-in-one HR platform that provides payroll, benefits, and HR tools directly to your business on a regular basis. The services cover everything you need to run your HR smoothly. How it works is you start by choosing one of their 4 plans based on what suits your business style the best, such as the ‘contractor’ plan for freelancers or contractors, a basic plan for sm all startups, a plus plan for bigger, multi-state operations or a premium plan for larger, more established businesses. You can upgrade or downgrade your plan anytime, and you can also pause the service if needed. Now I wanted to try out a variety of their features so I opted for the comprehensive plan which includes payroll, benefits, HR tools, and dedicated support. Because I wanted to see if some features ended up being more useful than others, and what I found is that for the most part, everything was awesome, but the dedicated support was the standout feature which I’ll talk more about here in a minute. Setup-wise, things went smoothly. And the support team is just a message away! The first thing you’ll notice is that all the tools are at the top of the dashboard, then below that you have your employee data and reports. The tools are clearly labeled to tell you what they’re for and they include all the necessary functions needed in one place. The employee data, however, is all mixed together. So, the time-off request for one employee is sitting with the payroll report for another employee. Basically it’s up to you whether you want to sort these out now or find the data you need as you handle each HR task. Quality and efficiency wise, the platform was as perfect as I could expect. Like if I were to go for an HR tool hunt and choose the best available tools, I don’t see being able to improve upon the quality of what they provided. You’re really getting good stuff. It’s clear that Gusto has invested a lot of time and energy into making this feature as robust and user-friendly as possible. Payroll is a complex process, with many variables to consider, but Gusto’s interface made it simple and straightforward. It was easy to enter employee information, set up pay schedules, and manage deductions. They allow you to choose from a wide range of plans, and the employee self-service portal is an excellent feature. This allowed our employees to access their benefits information whenever they needed it, which saved our HR team a lot of time. The HR tools were also helpful. The time tracking tool, for instance, was not as sophisticated as we would have liked. It lacked some features we were used to, like geofencing and automated overtime calculations, which are important for our business. We figured that this tool would probably be more suited for smaller teams, rather than larger organizations like ours. As I mentioned, the time tracking tool didn’t meet our needs. The employee data organization in the dashboard could also use some work. Having all the data mixed together made it a bit challenging to quickly locate the specific information we needed. We would have appreciated a more organized, perhaps even customizable, display. So, in conclusion, is Gusto the right choice for your business? Based on my experience, I can confidently say that it is a top-notch HR platform that offers a host of robust features. The payroll and benefits tools alone are worth considering Gusto for. However, it’s not perfect, and depending on your company’s specific needs and size, you may find that it’s not the ideal fit. I recommend doing a thorough evaluation of your HR needs before making a decision. And if you’ve decided to give Gusto a try, don’t forget to use the link in the description for the best deal. Does gusto pay all applicable tax agencies on each payroll? For the employer and company ?
Gusto, as a payroll and HR software platform, can help automate the process of calculating and paying payroll taxes to various tax agencies, including federal, state, and local tax authorities. However, it’s essential to note that the responsibility for paying these taxes ultimately falls on the employer or company, not Gusto.
