    1. Yes, to a point. The efficiency of the clean of an electric toothbrush, if used correctly, can help limit the staining effects of diet and lifestyle that might dull the exterior surface of the teeth.

If cosmetic bleaching has been completed, over time however, the teeth will still dull and a top up of the whitening may well be required. How soon this is will depend on the particular individual.

    1. There is no set time. You shouldn’t need to do it all that often. Many people will top up their whitening every 6-12 months, but it is not essential. Some go a couple of years between doing so.
If you are having regular dental checkups, you could ask for your dentists opinion.

  1. Hi I have a crown on my front tooth (due to breaking it in hockey), I understand whitening doesn’t effect that, so if I changed the crown to a whiter one, would using the trays make my teeth whiter than the the first whitening treatment? I ask this because I don’t want to keep changing the crown 😂😭
    Cheers

    1. There is a limit to how white peoples teeth will be. So, if you have undertaken tooth whitening, theoretically and future whitening will take the teeth back to about the same level. Therefore you should not have to keep replacing the crown. Do the whitening to the point you are happy. Then change the crown. Just then top up as and when. It might just be you need to top up the whitening slightly more often because any change in the natural tooth colour might be slightly more obvious with the crown in place. It is usually subtle, but noticeable if you analyse the teeth.
It is best to take personalised advice from your dentist, but that is the general approach.
