Preparing for HARD Times with Gold Coins, Silver Coins and Cash

The best time to prepare for hard times in the future is when things are going well. Saving and setting aside some cash, buying silver and gold coins, all add security and flexibility for your or your family. Tangible assets are a must for security. In today’s video we look at Half Ounce Gold Coin, a 2020 Gold American Eagle. I discuss local American Silver Eagle premiums and the importance of stacking silver, gold and cash to prepare for hard times ahead when you’ll need liquidity or for a large future purchase. 1. Thank you, Eli! I picked up 50 of the 1 GBs from Wyoming and 20 of the 5 GBs from Wyoming (which haven’t shown up yet). I have a few others from when they first came out too. I will be adding afew GBs to orders and over the next couple years should have a little stack of them. Time will tell how they do but it feels to be catching on

    1. It really depends on your income and expenses. I think having $2,000 – $5,000 in cash on hand should prepare you for most things but you may decide you need more cash-on-hand. You could do the the $1000 Cash, 100 oz Silver, 1 oz Gold plan that a lot of people do. Do that 5 times and you’ve got a Monster Box, $5K and 5 ounces of Gold.

    1. Thank you, Sal! So funny too. I called and asked if he had Fractional Gold and all he had were 1/20th Maples and Pandas. I drive 20 minutes, and wouldn’t you know, a 1/2 oz Eagle walked in the door just in time! Maybe we have all thrown our money away at the GBs but I don’t think so. I just wish they would sell them strictly to the public and avoid the dealers who mark them up.

  1. Do you know what I find hilarious? I always see people talking shit about Biden, and how he caused all these problems. Here’s what is hilarious, Trump spent 8 trillion dollars in 4 years! Biden has spent just over 3 trillion in 3 years! Is it me or did Trump spend twice the amount as Biden? So somebody tell me why it’s all Bidens fault! Let’s be realistic for a minute. I have a degree in Accounting and Business Management as well as a degree in Political Science. The numbers just don’t add up!

    1. Might want to look at that again, Biden is over $5 Trillion but you are correct about Trump with the $7T. He will say he had to respond to Covid when it broke and rebuild the military which he did, but you are right, that cost us. Rick, Joe is inept, he mumbles, can hardly form a coherent sentence and he has left our border wide open. Need I mention Afghanistan of which I spent 18 months of my life? There is more to the comparison, but I understand your point. I think we would all be better without either of them.

  2. Wow, thats a good price on that 1/2 ounce gold eagle. Gonna have to check that store out as much as I hate the thought of fighting I-4 to get there from Lakeland lol. Recently picked up a one ounce Britannia from my local coin shop at $50 over spot and a couple of 1/4 ounce eagles at $530 each. Love that fractional gold! The deals are out there!! What are your thoughts for new stackers for percentage of gold vs silver? I recently broke the 100 ounce silver mark with 2.5 ounces of gold? Thanks for these awesome videos.

  3. Yep, Silver does have some weight. Few years ago I bought two empty silver eagle monster boxes. And started filling them. Now both are full and I got some long white zip ties to keep them closed. They worked really well, but each box is extremely heavy! Hard to pick up and move. I’m now concentrating more on gold and need 3 more ounces to get to two dozen ounces. That could take two more years. My next coin is going to be another Buffalo.

  4. you said things are hard and you said things are getting better with the end of summer and kids back in school.
please explain this discrepancy for us ignorant types. how is spending 1012 for a half ounce, or 2024 per ounce a good idea when an ounce of gold is only 1900? are you deluding yourself or are we? why are kids back in school a good time to buy gold? help your viewers understand the relevance of why kids back in school is a good time to buy gold.

    1. They are harder, inflation is destroying families’ abilities to save. Yes, $1012 for a half ounce gold eagle IS a good price, especially at the time. Gold and Silver Coins have premiums over spot we all pay, fact of life. Kids aren’t in summer camps, wife is earning, are you a close friend of mine who needs all the details? No, you sound like a troubled, triggered person.
