@2 is 1 : Yeah! I agree … “Gold is so expensive! It is overpriced”. Me: “No, it’s not. As long as someone are willing to pay a certain price for a commodity, that is what the market price is”. 🙂
@2 is 1 … another selling point which maybe is not as obvious for US citizens. If you live in a part of the world, maybe in a smaller country, with a less significant currency, those same currencies in times of unrest (pretty much as we have it nowadays, with the Ukraine war, currency wars, energy crisis and what not), owning gold will also be a hedge for those smaller currencies that quite often lose terrains against the USD, EUR and other more significant currencies. In time of crisis, major currencies tend to strengthen, while less significant currencies tend to weakens.
